The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team plays its second nonconference game in as many days Saturday, traveling to Pella, Iowa, for a 4 p.m. contest against Central-Iowa

Last Action: Both SMU and Central were in action on Friday — the Cardinals scored single goals in each half en route to a 2-1 nonconference win over Simpson, while St. Catherine erupted for four goals in a 21-minute span in drubbing the Dutch 5-0 Friday.

Last Meeting: Today's game between the Cardinals and the Dutch is the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

SMU Cardinal Notes: Amy Sibik (Onalaska, Wis.), who has led the team in scoring in each of her first two seasons, got her junior year off on the right foot, scoring once and assisting on SMU's other in Friday's win. … Dana Winkler (Lake Geneva, Wis.) scored the Cardinals' other goal vs. the Storm. … Mariana Sanchez (Puebla, Mexico), an honorable-mention All-MIAC selection a year ago, finished with three saves in Friday's win. … With Friday's win, the Cardinals are now 29-2-1 in their last 32 nonconference games — with both losses coming to UW-Stout — and are 28-5-2 in nonconference play since the start of the 2004 season.

Central Dutch Notes: Central boasts 13 freshmen on this year's team — the most in the program's 14-year history. … Last year's 3-15 record was the worst in school history, but Central does return seven of 11 starters. … Jenna Hindman was a second-team All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) selection in 2008 — as well as the team's MVP — while Kristi Klatt was a second-team pick in 2007. … Hindman led the team in scoring a year ago with five goals, four assists and 14 points. Hindman now has 15 career goals. … … GK Abby Norman finished with 155 saves (8.6 spg) as a freshman last season. … The Dutch struggled through losing streaks of nine and four games in 2008. … Ten of Central's 2008 15 losses were by shutout.
