LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University baseball, coming off seven games at the Russ Matt Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., are right back in action on Thursday, traveling to Viterbo for a 2 p.m. nonconference doubleheader against the V-Hawks.

Andrew Ruf (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) threw a team-best 9.1 innings, compiling a 1.93 ERA, as the sophomore right-hander went 8 2/3 innings in falling to Oberlin 3-2, while collecting his first collegiate save in SMU's 5-4 win over Williams. … SMU outscored its Russ Matt opponents 12-1 in the fourth inning and 22-11 in the fifth.
