WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University baseball, coming off a home Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference split against Augsburg on Saturday, stays home for another key conference doubleheader against Saint John's on Wednesday. First pitch at Max Molock Field in slated for 2:30 p.m.

The Cardinals fell behind early and never recovered in dropping the first game of their MIAC doubleheader against Augsburg 16-3 Saturday at Max Molock Field. But SMU bounced back, scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase an 8-5 deficit and lift SMU to a 9-8 win and a split in their twinbill. Saint John's, meanwhile, is also coming off a Saturday conference split, as the Johnnies lost Game 1 at Carleton 15-8, and came back with a 13-2 win in Northfield, Minn.

The Cardinals battled the Johnnies tooth-and-nail in the opener, with SJU holding a 2-1 advantage heading into the bottom of the sixth inning — where the Johnnies erupted for three runs en route to the 5-1 Game 1 win.
