DECORAH, Iowa — According to Saint Mary's University women's soccer coach Eric Zimmerman, his Cardinals are beginning to develop a personality as a second-half team.
Problem is, by the time the Cardinals get into their second-half persona, it's too late.
And Saturday night was no exception.
The Cardinals put together a strong second half, but couldn't rebound from an early deficit, as Luther handed SMU a 3-0 nonconference setback.
“We just can't seem to get going in the first half,” Zimmerman said. “We're becoming a very good second-half team — but we've got to find a way to play two very good halves, not just one.”
The Cardinals are back in action on Tuesday, opening their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a 2 p.m. contest at Bethel.
