Last Action:
The Cardinals dropped a pair of conference games on Thursday, falling to Saint John's 3-0 and 5-4 in Collegeville, Minn. Hamline, meanwhile, stepped out of conference play on Thursday, sweeping Luther 3-2 in nine innings in the opener and 8-3 in the nightcap in St. Paul, Minn.

Last Meeting April 25, 2010:
Getting the lead wasn't the problem for the Cardinals vs. Hamline. Hanging on to that lead, however, was. The Cardinals scored first in both games of their MIAC doubleheader against Hamline, but those leads proved to be short-lived, as the Pipers scored five unanswered runs to beat SMU 5-2 in the opener, then rallied from a 3-0 first-inning lead — then scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning — to complete the sweep with a 5-4 victory in Game 2.

The Cardinals are back at Max Molock Field on Tuesday, hosting UW-Stout in a nonconference doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. … Hamline, meanwhile, is back on the road on Tuesday, traveling to Collegeville, Minn., for a 2:30 p.m. conference twinbill against Saint John's.

SMU pitcher Gary Seifert (Prescott, Wis.) had a no-hitter through five innings against Saint John's on Thursday. The senior surrendered all three runs and all four hits in the sixth inning in the 3-0 Game 1 loss. … Andrew Warren (Stillwater, Minn.) and Jake Lechner (Shoreview, Minn.) each had two hits in Game 2 vs. the Johnnies Thursday. … Curt Swanson (Woodbury, Minn.) had a hit in the second game vs. SJU Thursday and has now had a hit in 22 of the 26 games he's played this season.
