2012 Championships In Review:
MEN: It was a great day to be an Ole, as St. Olaf used an impressive all-around performance to capture the 2012 MIAC men's title. The Oles were led to their title by Grant Wintheiser, who ran away with the individual MIAC championship and headlined the all-conference team with a superb individual effort. The Oles pulled away from an otherwise-competitive field with an outstanding team score of 54 points. St. Olaf had four of the top 14 runners in the field, and all five who scored finished in the top 20. In all, head coach Phil Lundin's team had six runners earn All-MIAC honors - four First-Team and two Honorable Mention. St. Thomas won a three-team fight for runner-up honors with 97 points. Bethel was just four points behind the Tommies at 101 to join the top three, and Saint John's was a close fourth with a score of 103 | Complete Men's Recap | Men's Championships Results

WOMEN: The 2012 women's championships could not have featured much more drama, with just three points separating the top two teams and the top three all within 11 points of one another. In the closely-contested race, it was Gustavus to emerge victorious, edging St. Olaf and defending champion Carleton to claim the MIAC team title. Meanwhile, St. Thomas' Taylor Berg delivered the day's top highlight, surging ahead in the second half of the race to win the MIAC individual title. The Oles had six of the top 24 runners in the field, but came up three points short of their second title in three years with a team total of 60 points. Carleton placed six in the top 21, but with the Knights' top runner finishing ninth, they were forced to settle for third with a score of 68 points. St. Thomas came in a distant fourth at 102 points, and there was another big gap between the Tommies and Saint Benedict, as the Blazers claimed the final spot in the top five with a toal of 170 | Complete Women's Recap | Women's Championships Results
