ETTRICK, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University cross country teams return to action on Saturday, heading to Ettrick Golf Course to take part in the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational.

• Isaiah Olsem (Fulda, Minn.) toured the eight-kilometer course in 27:11.91 to lead the way for the Cardinal men at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4, while Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) was the top finisher for the Saint Mary's women, stopping the clock with a 6K time of 24:21.7. … Franke's 24:21.7 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational was a career-best, bettering her previous best of 24:27 at last year's NCAA Central Regional. … Franke has now been the Cardinal women's top finisher in each of their three meets this season — and in 12 of the team's last 14 meets over the past three seasons. … Jordan Malikowski (Royalton, Minn.) was the second Cardinal across the finish line at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4, stopping the clock in 27:44.64, with Tanner Moris (Crandon Wis. / 27:48.98), Axel Daood (St. Charles, Minn. / 27:56.88), Jon Meaden (Rosemount, Minn. / 28:08.74), and Caedon McCartney (Owatonna, Minn. / 28:44.95) rounded out the Cardinals' lineup. … Anna Marinc (Carol Stream, Ill.) finished second to Franke for the Cardinal women at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational, breaking the tape in 25:05.06, followed by Anna Swanson (Osceola, Wis. / 26:32.1), Amelia Sweet (Prescott, Wis. / 27:08.4), Julia VanWatermeulen (Ellsworth, Wis. / 27:55.4), Emma Ririe (Darien, Ill. / 28:08.6), Madalyn Bollig (St. Croix Falls, Wis. / 28:45.7), and Rachel Simon (Foley, Minn. / 31:57.2). … Malikowski was the top Cardinal male across the finish line at the National Catholic Invitational on Sept. 20, posting an eight-kilometer time of 28:56. Franke stopped the clock with a 5K time of 21:04 to lead the way for the Saint Mary's women. … Olsem placed fifth overall with a four-mile time of 22:21 in leading the Cardinal men to a second-place team finish at the Saint Mary's Alumni Open on Sept. 7. … Olsem has led the Cardinal men across the finish line in six of their last eight meets. … Marinc recorded a career-best 6K time of 25:02 to lead the Saint Mary's women to a 10th-place finish at last season's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. … Malikowski posted his career-best eight-kilometer time in the final meet of the 2018 season, clocking a time of 27:02.3 to pace the Cardinal men to a 23rd-place finish at the season-ending NCAA Central Regional. … Malikowski's time was not only a career-best, but also the fastest 8K time by a Cardinal in 2018.
