NORTHFIELD, Minn.  — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's cross country teams are back in action on Saturday, traveling to St. Olaf for the NCAA Division III Central Regional.

SMU at 2012 NCAA Central Regional:
Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) and Katie Stolz (Forest Lake, Minn.) have been leading the charge for the Saint Mary's University cross country teams all season. And the NCAA Central Regional was no different. Haley posted an eight-kilometer time of 26:51 to lead the SMU men to a 14th-place finish, while Stolz cruised to a 6K time of 24:06 to pace the Cardinal women's 20th-place effort | Men's Results | Women's Results

The Cardinals' Last Action:
November 2, 2013: SMU had been preparing for Saturday's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships all season. And the Cardinals certainly saved their best for last. Katie Stoltz (Forest Lake, Minn.) and Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) were the best of the best for the Cardinals, as the SMU juniors both earned All-MIAC honors in record-setting fashion to pace the Cardinals to ninth (men) and 11th (women).

Katie Stoltz (Forest Lake, Minn.) toured the six-kilometer Como Park women's course in a school-record time of 23:23 to finish 11th overall at the MIAC Championships on Nov. 2. … Fueled by her first All-MIAC effort, Stolz also earned the MIAC's prestigious Elite 22 honor — honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among her peers. … Stolz has now set the school's 6K record twice this season, having initially broken the mark with a time of 23:25 at the Tori Neubauer Invitational on Oct. 19. … Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) also enjoyed a record-setting day at the MIAC Championships, repeating as an All-MIAC selection with a school-record 8K time of 25:59 to place 13th overall. …  Allie Thiel (Burr Ridge, Ill.) was the second Cardinal woman across the finish line at the conference championships, clocking a time of 24:44. … Bridget Hayes (Chicago, Ill.) and Josie Moreno (Cicero, Ill.) added times of 25:12 and 25:34, respectively, with Kristen Thelen (Rochester, Minn. / 25:52), Katherine Mockler (Dubuque, Iowa / 26:01) and Clare Siska (Rochester, Minn. / 26:09) rounding out the SMU lineup. … Jovan Newsum (Glendale Heights, Ill.) put together a solid showing in his first MIAC Championships on Nov. 2, finishing second to Haley with a time of 27:13, while Gabe Thiel (Berlin, Wis.) and John Soucheray (Woodbury, Minn.) added times of 28:11 and 28:24 respectively. … Jase Pater (Adrian, Minn. / 29:03), Alex Davis (Champaign, Ill. / 29:14) and Sherman Moga (Shoreview, Minn. / 29:26 rounded out the Cardinals' top seven.
