ST. PAUL, Minn. - If the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team was looking to find a scapegoat for Macalester's sour mood Saturday afternoon, Concordia would certainly fit the bill.

The Cobbers knocked the Scots out of first place in the conference standings with a 1-0 overtime win last Tuesday - and forced Macalester into a must-win situation when they hosted Saint Mary's for Saturday's regular-season finale.

And the Scots took out their frustrations on the Cardinals - scoring just three minutes into the opening half and never looking back in handing Saint Mary's a 6-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference setback.

Lydia Chodosh didn't wait for the fans at Macalester Stadium to get comfortable before putting the Scots on the board, as the sophomore forward put Macalester on the board just three minutes into the opening half.

And, unfortunately for the Cardinals, that was just a sign of things to come.

Georgia Cloepfil would score the first of her three second-half goals just 54 seconds after the halftime break, and by the time Bonnie Bentson closed out the scoring with her first of the season in the 82nd minute, the Scots had padded their lead to 6-0 - and officially punched its ticket to the conference playoffs.

Miranda Halling (Rochester, Minn.) finished with a season-high 15 saves for the Cardinals. The 15-save effort was one shy of her career-best 16-save performance against Concordia last season.
