The Cardinals dropped a pair of nonconference games to high-powered Wartburg on March 17, as the Knights handed SMU 7-0 and 5-4 setbacks at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. … The Rams, meanwhile, dropped a pair of games to Presentation on Saturday, falling 9-7 in 11 innings and 6-3 in Pleasant Hills, Iowa.

SMU vs. Cornell — Their Last Meeting:
March 17, 2012: It was a doubleheader that spanned two days (sort of) and in the end, SMU came away with its fourth straight doubleheader split. In a game that kicked off at 10 p.m., the Cardinals banged out 14 hits and scored in four of the seven innings in handing Cornell an 8-3 nonconference setback. In the nightcap — with its final out occurring well after 2 a.m. — it was the Rams who came out on top, scoring six times in the second inning en route to a 7-6 victory.

The Cardinals are back in the Metrodome for one more nonconference doubleheader on Thursday, as SMU squares off against UW-Superior.
