In a game that kicked off at 10 p.m., the Cardinals banged out 14 hits and scored in four of the seven innings in handing Cornell an 8-3 nonconference setback. In the nightcap — with its final out occurring well after 2 a.m. — it was the Rams who came out on top, scoring six times in the second inning en route to a 7-6 victory.
