ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University baseball team is right back on the road on Thursday, as the Cardinals head to Bethel for a 2:30 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Royals.

The Cardinals, playing for the first time since April 7, surrendered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning in falling to Saint John's 6-5 in the opener of their MIAC doubleheader Wednesday. SMU rebounded in Game 2, using a pair of four-run innings to beat SJU 11-7 to earn the split. … The Royals, whose Wednesday's doubleheader against Augsburg was postponed, have not played since April 7, when they split a conference twinbill against St. Olaf, winning the first game 8-1, before dropping Game 2 8-2 in Arden Hills, Minn.

March 31, 2012: The Cardinals surrendered a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning in falling to Bethel 4-3 in the teams' MIAC opener at Max Molock Field, and the Royals used that momentum to propel them to a 12-2 victory in the nightcap.

The Cardinals look to kick off their home schedule this weekend, as SMU hosts St. Olaf and Gustavus in back-to-back conference doubleheaders at Max Molock Field Saturday and Sunday.
