SMU vs. Concordia — Their Last Meeting:
April 10, 2012: After a nightmarish Game 1 in their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader against Concordia, SMU was hoping for a little more memorable performance in the nightcap. Unfortunately for Saint Mary's, Concordia's Braden Rahman decided to continue to haunt the Cardinals. Rahman, who went 3-for-5 and drove in seven runs in the Cobbers' 22-2 win in the opener Tuesday, broke a 3-3 tie with a game-winning double in the top of the seventh inning to lift Concordia to a 4-3 win and a sweep of the teams' conference twinbill at Max Molock Field.

Up Next:
Thursday's doubleheader is the regular-season finale for both the Cardinals and Cobbers.

MIAC Playoff Chase:
Because all 11 teams will not complete their full 20-game conference schedule, the Playoffs will change from a four-team, double-elimination tournament to a six-team, single-elimination tournament. The top two seeds will receive a bye into the semifinals, with seeds three through six squaring off in two quarterfinal games Friday. The two semifinals will be held Saturday with the championship game to conclude the tournament on Sunday | MIAC Release
Heading into Thursday's games, only St. Thomas (19-1) has locked up a post-season berth, while Augsburg and Saint Mary's are in the driver's seat with 10-8 records with only Thursday doubleheaders against St. Olaf and Concordia, respectively. One win guarantees both the Auggies and Cardinals a spot in the six-team tournament. Gustavus (10-10), Bethel (10-10), Saint John's (9-9), Concordia (9-9) and St. Olaf (8-8) are also very much in the hunt for one of those five remaining tournament berths. The top six seeds will be determined by conference winning percentage and any previously-established tiebreaking criteria that applies.
