HAM LAKE, Minn. — Tim Wolford (Maple Grove, Minn.) and Blake Westerberg (Red Wing, Minn.) led the way for the Saint Mary's University men's golf team during the Cardinals' first two performances of the season — and it was more of the same when the Cardinals took to the Majestic Oaks Golf Course Saturday.

Westerberg carded a team-best five-over-par 77 and Wolford was a stroke back at 78 to lead the way for SMU during the opening round of the 36-hole tournament.

Connor Brandt (Woodbury, Minn.), Trevor Erickson (Sparta, Wis.) and David Iten () all finished with opening-round 88s for the Cardinals.

SMU will complete the two-day, 36-hole tournament Sunday at Majestic Oaks Golf Course.
