TUCSON, Ariz. — The Saint Mary's University baseball team played its third nonconference doubleheader of the season on Saturday, with the same outcome — a split.
This time around, however, the Cardinals needed a Game 2 win to earn the split.

The Vikings erupted for six runs in the fifth inning, snapping a 3-3 tie and leading Bethany Lutheran to the win in Game 1.

Willie Doll (Amherst, Wis.) with two hits in three at-bats. The Cardinals' other seven hits came from seven different players.
It was the Cardinals who came up with the big inning in the nightcap, as SMU scored twice in the top of the third and five times in the top of the sixth to take a 7-1 advantage in earning the split.
The Cardinals collected nine hits for the second straight game in Game 2, with
