WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota baseball team returns to Max Molock Field on Wednesday, as the Cardinals host Augsburg in a 2:30 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader.

• April 22, 2014: Steph Scatassa (Westchester, Ill.) limited the host Auggies to single runs in the second and third innings, scattering eight hits in leading the Cardinals to an 8-2 Game 1 victory in Minneapolis, Minn.  Cardinal Game 2 starter Ben Dobosenski (Westmont, Ill.) tossed eight innings of scoreless, five-hit ball, but the Cardinals failed to give him any run support—and Augsburg's Andrew Douglas broke a scoreless deadlock with a one-out, walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Auggies the 1-0 win and a split in the conference twinbill | Recap

With their sweep of Macalester Saturday, the Cardinals enter their MIAC twinbill against Augsburg having won three straight and 11 of their last 14. … The Cardinals improved to 21-6 with their sweep of Macalester. It's the second time under coach Nick Winecke that Saint Mary's has eclipsed the 20-win plateau. The Cardinals finished 22-20 in 2012. … At 7-3 in conference play, the Cardinals are currently sitting in second place, trailing league-leading Bethel (10-2) and leading St. Thomas (8-4), Carleton (6-4) and Concordia (6-4). … With their 7-5 win vs. Macalester Saturday, the Cardinals improved to 10-2 in Game 1s this season. … The Cardinals have not dropped back-to-back games this season, while putting together a pair of five-game winning streaks, and a four-game run. … Saint Mary's scored 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning en route to its 13-11 Game 2 win over Luther on April 8.
