NORTHFIELD, Minn.  — The Saint Mary's University men's and women's cross country teams are back in action on Saturday, traveling to Carleton College to take part in the season-ending NCAA Division III Central Regional.

• November 14, 2015 * Pella, Iowa: It was the final meet of the regular season, and it's safe to say the Saint Mary's men saved their best for last. Jovan Newsum (Glendale Heights, Ill.) placed 45th overall—leading three Cardinals in the top 100—as Saint Mary's raced to a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional, hosted by Central College. • After back-to-back honorable-mention All-MIAC performances the previous two seasons, Jovan Newsum (Glendale Heights, Ill.) earned his first All-MIAC honor this time around, posting an 8K time of 26:08 in placing third at the MIAC Championships on Oct. 28. … Newsum's third-place finish is the highest individual performance by a Cardinal runner—male or female—at the MIAC Championships. … In his last two races, Newsum has posted season-best times of 26:14 and 26:08. … Newsum's 26:08 at the MIAC Championships is his best effort since posting a time of 25:41 at the 2015 UW-La Crosse Jim Drews Invitational. … Austin O'Hare (Rushford, Minn.) and Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.) were the second and third Cardinals across the finish line at the MIAC Championships, posting times of 27:18 and 27:29, respectively. Sherman Moga (Shoreview, Minn. / 28:31), Ben Borash (Bowlus, Minn. / 29:40), and Marlon Barrett-Dwyer (Chicago, Ill. / 33:22) rounded out the Cardinals' lineup. … Newsum and O'Hare have been 1-2 for the Cardinal men in each of their last three races. … O'Hare clocked a winning four-mile time of 22:09.7 at the Saint Mary's Alumni Open on Sept. 3, narrowly outdistancing Newsum, who was second in 22:30.7. … O'Hare has now been the Cardinals' top finisher at the Saint Mary's Alumni Open in each of the last two seasons.
