• March 30, 2015 * St. Paul, Minn.: The Cardinals rode the right arm of Steph Scatassa (Westchester, Ill.)—and took advantage of three walks and a error to score three runs in the fifth innings—as Saint Mary's knocked off nationally ranked and defending conference champion St. Thomas 3-0 in the opening game of their MIAC twinbill. • Sunday's doubleheader against St. Thomas is the second straight twinbill for the Cardinals. … The Cardinals' Game 1 win over St. Thomas a year ago snapped a 10-game regular-season slide vs. the Tommies—as well as ending St. Thomas' 54-game home winning streak. … Saint Mary's 9-1 loss to the University of Minnesota Wednesday marked the first time the Cardinals and Gophers had squared off in program history. … Last Tuesday's 9-2 Game 1 loss to UW-La Crosse marked the first time this season the Cardinals have lost the first game of a doubleheader.
