• For the second time in as many meets,
Austin O'Hare (Rushford, Minn.) and
Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) led the way for the Cardinals at the St. Olaf Invitational on Sept. 16. O'Hare—who opened the year with a four-mile time of 21:47 at the season-opening Saint Mary's Alumni Open, toured the six-kilometer St. Olaf course in a team-best 26:48 to place 20
th overall. … Franke, who posted a 5K time of 22:40 at the Saint Mary's Alumni Open, followed that up with a 6K time of 26:22. … Along with O'Hare's team-leading St. Olaf Invitational time, the Cardinals also got a 28:21 from
Brandon Krogman (Owatonna, Minn.), a 28:53 from
Jordan Malikowski (Royalton, Minn.), a 29:47 from
Ben Borash (Bowlus, Minn.), a 29:50 from
Jon Meaden (Rosemount, Minn.), and
Isaiah Olsem's (Fulda, Minn.) 30:13 rounded out the top seven. … On the women's side,
Emily Ortiz (Albert Lea, Minn.) added a 28:14, followed by
Erika Thiel (Burr Ridge, Ill. / 29:13),
Alicia Berkenes (Buffalo, Minn., / 29:23),
Maddie Bollig (St. Croix Falls, Wis. / 30:15), and
Molly Sweet (Prescott, Wis. / 30:49). … O'Hare and Krogman were the second and third Cardinals across the finish line at last year's MIAC Championships, posting times of 27:18 and 27:29, respectively. … Franke posted a team-best 6K time of 24:45 in her first MIAC Championships a year ago. … Franke's 24:45 at the MIAC Championships was the fastest 6K time posted by a Cardinal last season.
