NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota cross country teams heads to St. Olaf College on Saturday to take part in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The men's race is slated for 11 a.m., with the women's to follow at noon.

Austin O'Hare (Plainview, Minn.), running in the final MIAC Championships of his collegiate career, saved his best for last, as the senior posted an eight-kilometer time of 26:23 to place 12
th overall — and earn his first-ever All-MIAC honor. Fueled by O'Hare's efforts, the Cardinal men finished 10
th in the team standings. The Saint Mary's women, behind a team-best 6K time of 24:55 from

• October 28, 2017 * St. Olaf College * Northfield, Minn.: For the first time in 15 years, Carleton were crowned of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Knights, who claimed their fourth-ever men's title, placed all five scoring runners among the meet's top-10 finishers, including individual champion Donson Cook-Gallardo, who claimed first-place by a full 19 seconds with a time of 25:22.4. St. Olaf finished second overall, snapping a streak of five consecutive conference titles for the Oles. The 2017 Women's MIAC Championships In Review:
• October 28, 2017 * St. Olaf College * Northfield, Minn.: Carleton placed five runners among the top eight and seven in the top-12 to claim the 2017 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. The win marks Carleton's ninth women's cross country championship and fourth in the last five years. The Knights' scored 21 points at the meet, the lowest team score on-record in conference history. The nation's No. 9-ranked team was led by sophomore sensation Meg Mathison, who clocked in at 21:57.3 for a first-place individual finish. Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) were the Cardinals' top finishers for the third meet in a row at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Oct. 13. Olsem (Fulda, Minn.) recorded an eight-kilometer time of 27:39, while Franke stopped the clock in 24:32 in the 6K women's race. … Franke — whose 24:31 was her fastest 6K time of the season — has now led the Cardinal women in eight of the team's last nine meets — including five of six a year ago. … Olsem clocked a career-best eight-kilometer time of 27:10 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Sept. 22. …
