NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University cross country teams heads to Carleton College on Saturday to take part in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The women's race is slated for 11 a.m., with the men's to follow at noon.

Saint Mary's at the 2018 MIAC Championships:
• October 27, 2018 * St. Olaf College * Northfield, Minn.: Anna Marinc (Carol Stream, Ill.) toured the six-kilometer course in a career-best six-kilometer time of 25:02, as the Cardinal freshman led Saint Mary's to an 11th-place finish in the team standings. The Cardinal men, meanwhile, were led by a familiar face — sophomore Isaiah Olsem (Fulda, Minn.), who was the team's top finisher for the fourth straight meet, covering the eight-kilometer course in 27:48 to lead Saint Mary's to a 10th-place showing in the team-standings | Recap

The 2018 Men's MIAC Championships In Review:
• October 27, 2018 * St. Olaf College * Northfield, Minn.: Carleton waited 15 years between MIAC men's cross country championships before claiming the conference crown last season. The 2018 Women's MIAC Championships In Review:
• October 27, 2018 * St. Olaf College * Northfield, Minn.: With four runners in the top nine and six among the first 12 finishers, Carleton rolled to its second consecutive MIAC women's cross country championship and the program's seventh in the last 10 years. Saint Benedict's Morgan Pierce earned individual honors, crossing the finish line in 22:30.0 to become the first Bennie since Leah Wurm in 2004 to claim the individual MIAC crown | Recap * Results

Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) enters her third conference championships as the Cardinal women's leader, posting a time of 24:28.9 in her most recent event, the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational on Oct. 19. … Franke's 24:28.9 at the Tori Neubauer Invitational was her second-fastest time of the season — and the third-fastest 6K effort of her career. Franke clocked a career-best 24:21.6 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4, a time that bettered her previous career-best of 24:27.0 at last season's NCAA Central Regional. … Franke has now been the Cardinal women's top finisher in each of their four meets this season — and in 13 of the team's last 15 meets over the past three seasons. … Jordan Malikowski (Royalton, Minn.) led the Cardinal men at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews Invitational on Oct. 19, posting an 8K time of 28:08.3. … Isaiah Olsem (Fulda, Minn.) toured the eight-kilometer course in 27:11.91 to lead the way for the Cardinal men at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4, while Malikowski was the top Cardinal male across the finish line at the National Catholic Invitational on Sept. 20, posting an eight-kilometer time of 28:56. Franke stopped the clock with a 5K time of 21:04 to lead the way for the Saint Mary's women. … Olsem placed fifth overall with a four-mile time of 22:21 in leading the Cardinal men to a second-place team finish at the Saint Mary's Alumni Open on Sept. 7. … Olsem has led the Cardinal men across the finish line in six of the last eight meets he has competed in. … Marinc recorded a career-best 6K time of 25:02 to lead the Saint Mary's women to a 10th-place finish at last season's MIAC Championships. … Malikowski posted his career-best eight-kilometer time in the final meet of the 2018 season, clocking a time of 27:02.3 to pace the Cardinal men to a 23rd-place finish at the season-ending NCAA Central Regional. … Malikowski's time was not only a career-best, but also the fastest 8K time by a Cardinal in 2018.
