WINONA, Minn. — There was no rest for the weary Cardinals Saturday afternoon.

Fresh off a dual meet against St. Norbert on Friday, the Saint Mary's women's swim team was right back in the pool on Saturday, squaring off against Southwest Minnesota State in another dual at Jul Gernes Pool.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the end result did not go in their favor, as the Mustangs dealt Saint Mary's a 109-75 setback.

Olivia Fleming (Hugo, Minn.) picked up Saint Mary's lone victory, winning the 50 freestyle in 26.87. Brooke Shefchik (Stevens Point, Wis.) chipped in three second-place finishes — in the 1000 freestyle (12:04.14), the 500 freestyle (6:01.75), and the 100 breaststroke (1:18.35).

Katie Domack (Lakeville, Minn.) delivered seconds in the 200 freestyle (2:12.38) and 100 butterfly (1:06.62), while Mara Caples (Rochester, Minn.) placed second in the 200 IM (2:29.41) and Katie Beitz (Blaine, Minn.) chipped in a second in the 100 freestyle (1:01.77).

The Cardinals are now off until Nov. 16, when they head to St. Paul, Minn., to take part in duals against Macalester and Gustavus.
