ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota baseball returns to conference play on Tuesday, as the Cardinals travel to St. Thomas' Koch Diamond for an MIAC doubleheader against the Tommies. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.

Saint Mary's finished 4-4 in its eight games at Max Molock Field a year ago. … With their split against St. Olaf last Saturday, the Cardinals have now split four of their six doubleheaders this season. • The Tommies' doubleheader against Saint Mary's is the second home twinbill of the season for UST, which split its home opener against Macalester on April 3, falling 9-3 in Game 1, before rebounding with a 4-1 victory in the nightcap. … After opening the season 10-3, the Tommies have dropped three of their last four — including back-to-back losses to UW-La Crosse last Thursday. … The Tommies' two games against UW-La Crosse last Thursday capped a stretch of 13 games in 15 days for UST. … Kyle Halverson heads into the Tommies DH against Saint Mary's leading the team with a .333 batting average.
