BECKER, Minn. — Jessica Massimo (Kenosha, Wis.) turned in the Saint Mary's University women's golf team's best score of the second round, shooting a 94 at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Sunday.

St. Catherine extended its lead to five shots after adding a second-round 316 to Saturday's 312 for a 628 total over the par-72 Pebble Creek Golf Club layout. The Wildcats enter Monday's final 18 holes with a five-shot lead over Bethel (315-318—633), with St. Thomas (319-330—649), Carleton (327-324—651) and Saint Benedict (323-331—654) rounded out the top five. The Cardinals are sitting 10th at 790 (390-400).

Along with Massimo's 94, Madyson Ulrey (North Manchester Ind.) added a second-round 94, while Celeste Van Klein (Lake City, Minn.) posted a 98 and Dani Stevens (Delano, Minn.) finished with a 111. Van Klein — who opened the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a team-best 90 — heads into Monday's final round with a team-best 188 (90-98), followed by Ulrey (05-97—192) and Massimo (99-94—193).

Carleton's Alyssa Akiyma remained the low individual, posting a second-straight one-over-par 73 for a 146 36-hole total and a six-shot lead over Bethel's Nicole Miller (77-75—152).

St. Thomas' Cayla Kim is currently third (74-80—154), with St. Catherine's Sydney Brown (79-76—155) and Sydney Brandt (76-82—158) sitting fourth and fifth.
