In addition, Green was tabbed the MIAC's Pitcher of the Year. … Green and Piechowski were also named ABCA All-Midwest Region, while also being honored by CoSIDA, landing Google Cloud Academic All-District VI honors. … All told, Green hauled in eight post-season honors in 2019, including Third-Team All-American by both ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com. … The Cardinals locked up their second straight MIAC Tournament berth — and their sixth in the last eight years — in 2019. The Cardinals fell to the regular season-champion Gusties 5-2 in the opening game of the post-season tournament, before dropping a heartbreaking 10-9 setback to St. Olaf in the elimination game. … Piechowski  closed out the season leading the team with a .406 batting average. He was one of four Cardinal players with 50 or more at-bats hitting above .300, being joined by Justin Weinberg (Eagan, Minn. / .362), Will Matthews (Geneva, Ill. / .325), and Andy Tepp (Stevens Point, Wis. / .320). … Piechowski also led or shared the team lead in runs (32), hits (52), triples (4), home runs (2), total bases (73), slugging percentage (.570), on-base percentage (.476), and stolen bases (10). … Piechowski belted his first collegiate home run — a grand slam — in the Cardinals' 11-1, season-opening win over Cabrini on Feb. 24, before adding his second of the year in Game 1 against Augsburg on April 23. … Piechowski's two home runs were the only ones the Cardinals hit until their final game of the season, when Matthews and Tepp each homered in Saint Mary's 10-9 MIAC Tournament loss to St. Olaf on May 11. … Matthews has now hit one home run in each of his three seasons with the Cardinals, while Tepp has belted a single round-tripper in each of his two seasons. … Weinberg was held hitless in the nightcap against Hamline on April 18, snapping the junior's hitting streak at a career-high 20 games. It was the longest hitting streak since Ben Buerkle hit safely in 20 consecutive games during the 2014 season. … Weinberg reached base safely in 29 of the team's last 31 games. … Jacob French's (Winona, Minn.) two hits in Game 2 against Augsburg on April 23 marked his first collegiate two-hit game. … Dixon Irwin (Red Wing, Minn.) notched his first collegiate three-hit game against Concordia-Moorhead on March 22. … Liam Belleveau (Middleton, Wis.) went 2-for-4 with his first two collegiate triples in the Cardinals' win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Feb. 25.
