  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals pushed their season-opening winning streak to three straight last Sunday, sweeping Luther 2-1 and 4-2 at Max Molock Field. … The Cardinals' DH vs. the Norse was their first home game in 683 days, dating back to a conference DH vs. Gustavus on May 1, 2019. … With their sweep of Luther, Saint Mary's has won its last six straight, having closed out its shortened season a year ago with three wins. … Ryan Wolfe (Wabasha, Minn.) tossed a complete-game four-hitter in SMU's 2-1 Game 1 win over Luther last Sunday. It was his fourth career complete game. Jonathan Cieminski (Fountain City, Wis.), Jacob Johnson (Hartland, Wis.), and Kodey Kiel (Owatonna, Minn.) combined a two-hitter in SMU's sweep-clinching 4-2 win in the nightcap. … Taylor Anderson (Waukesha, Wis.) went 3-for-4 and delivered the walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh of last Sunday's 2-1 win, while Tyler O'Brien (Belle Plaine, Minn.) chipped in a pair of hits. In the nightcap, Will Matthews (Geneva, Wis.) led the way with two hits. … Anderson, O'Brien, and Matthews have all hit safely in each of the Cardinals' first three games. … Matthews and Anderson enter Tuesday's DH against Augsburg leading the team in batting average, hitting .714 and .556, respectively.   AUGSBURG AUGGIES SCOUTING REPORT
Tuesday's doubleheader against Saint Mary's is the season-opener for the Auggies, who went 4-1 a year ago, before the pandemic cut the season short. … The Auggies will play their first 12 games on the road — 10 at US Bank Stadium, and the other two at Gustavus. Augsburg's first home games are slated for April 2, when they take on Macalester at Parade Stadium. … After opening the 2020 season with a 4-3 loss to Northland, the Auggies rattled off four straight wins to close out the pandemic-shortened season. … Michael Weiss closed out the year as the team's batting leader, hitting .571. Weiss was one of seven Auggie regulars to hit above .300. … Daniel Phyle finished the year second in average (.500), while leading the Auggies in hits (8), runs (7), doubles (2), triples (2), total bases (14), slugging percentage (.875), and walks (4). … Kyle Hoppe delivered a team-best six RBIs, one more than Walker Rogers. … As a team, Augsburg hit .314 in their five games in 2020, boasting 43 hits — including 16 for extra bases (11 doubles and five triples). … Augsburg's nine stolen bases a year ago came from eight different players.
