  SAINT MARY'S CARDINALS SCOUTING REPORT
With their sweep of Macalester on Thursday Saint Mary's improved to 12-5 in conference play and 18-8 overall heading into its four-game weekend against St. Olaf. … Saint Mary's has now won six straight and 11 of its last 12, the lone loss a 3-2, Game 1 loss to Saint John's on April 15. … Luke Gilbertson (Windom, Minn.) tossed a complete-game, six-hit shutout in Game 2 against Macalester Thursday. It was the junior's first collegiate game, and first collegiate shutout. The nine-inning effort was also the longest outing of his Cardinal career. … Saint Mary's seven Game 1 hits against the Scots Thursday came from seven different players. … Saint Mary's stole 15 bases in its DH against Macalester, including four by Zach Drake (Westby, Wis.). … Matthews is hitting a team-best .325 among regulars with 60 or more at-bats, while Taylor Anderson (Waukesha, Wis.) and Justin Weinberg (Eagan, Minn.) are also hitting above .300, sitting at .319 and .310, respectively. … Matthews and Weinberg share the team lead in hits (26), while Matthews is the team-leader in doubles (9) and RBIs (18). … Weinberg has scored a team-leading 22 runs and Anderson owns a team-best .427 on-base percentage. … The Cardinals have gotten at least one RBI from 18 different players. … Matthews and Liam Belleveau (Middleton, Wis.) hit home runs in the Cardinals' 11-1 win over Concordia last on April 17. It was his third career shutout and fifth career complete game. … Wolfe has thrown two of the team's three complete games, with Gilbertson's effort Thursday accounting for the other. … Justin Haugo (Springfield, Minn.) collected his first collegiate pitching win against Augsburg on April 11, tossing four innings of shutout relief in the Cardinals' 5-4 victory. … Addison Hochevar (Lake Geneva, Wis. / 3-1, 2.35 ERA) earned his first win as a Cardinal, throwing four scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits and striking out eight in Saint Mary's 5-3 Game 1 win over Augsburg on March 16. Jordan Zabel (Elgin, Minn.), meanwhile, collected his first collegiate pitching win against Gustavus on March 26, tossing three innings of shutout, one-hit relief. … Jonathan Cieminski (Fountain City, Wis. / 0-0, 3.07 ERA) recorded his first collegiate save in the nightcap against Carleton on April 6, facing the minimum nine batters in three innings of relief. … With their 8-7, 10-inning win over Concordia on April 17, Saint Mary's has now played 10 games decided by two runs or less — including six one-run contests.   ST. OLAF OLES SCOUTING REPORT
The Oles face Saint Mary's having not played since April 3, when they pushed their overall winning streak to 7-1 with an 11-3, 16-4 sweep of UW-Superior. … St. Olaf opened its season with three straight wins — beating Hamline twice (5-2, 7-1) and Bethany Lutheran (7-1), before suffering its first loss of the season, a 7-6, eight-inning loss to Bethany Lutheran in the second game of their doubleheader on March 17. The Oles then swept Augsburg (6-0, 8-5), before taking two from UW-Superior. … Joey Glampe owns a team-leading .625 batting average, while TJ Rogers (.414), Andrew Nomoto (.385), Travis McDonald (.375), Bobby Isbell (.360), Matthew Muller (.310) are also hitting above .300 through eight games. … Along with his team-leading .625 batting average, Glampe also leads the Oles in hits (15), home runs (2), RBIs (14), total bases (25), slugging percentage (1.042), and on-base percentage (.654). … Rogers, Nomoto and Muller share the team lead in run scored with 10 each, while Muller has belted a team-best five doubles one more than Rogers. … St. Olaf has hit three home runs in its first eight games, two by Glampe and the other off the bat of Nomoto. … Sam Westermeyer (2-0, 2.25 ERA) has tossed a team-high 12.0 innings to lead the Ole pitching staff. … Westermeyer and Forrest Kobeit (2-0, 1.00 ERA, 8.0 IP) share the team lead with two pitching wins each, while Hunter Barber (1-0, 1.93 ERA, 9.1 IP) and Sam Lavin (1-0, 0.93 ERA) have made a team-high three pitching appearances. … Lavin owns a team-high 13 strikeouts, three more than Westermeyer. … St. Olaf has scored five or more runs in all eight games this season — including a season-high 16 runs in their 16-4 win over UW-Superior on April 3.
