WINONA, Minn. — Here's quick-hit, by-the-numbers preview of the 2021 Saint Mary's University of Minnesota men's and women's cross country teams.

Runners To Watch — Men:
•  Gabe Bickerstaff (Junior), Isaiah Brindamour (Sophomore), and Quinn Steinbrecher (Sophomore) make up this year's Cardinal staff. None of the three competed in the 2019 season.
 
Runners To Watch — Women:
• Anna Swanson (Junior | Among the Cardinals' top three runners in all six meets in 2019. … Recorded a career-best 5K time of 22:36 at the 2019 National Catholic Invitational and notched a career-best 6K time of 25:32 at the 2019 UW-Eau Claire Invitational. … Earned All-American honors in the javelin at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
• Emma Ririe (Senior | Was among the Cardinals' top four runners in each of their six meets last season. … Posted a career-best 6K time of 26:44 at the 2018 NCAA Regional Meet).
 
By The Numbers:
• 1: The Cardinal men's six runners all posted their fastest 8K times of the season at the 2019 UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4, led by Isaiah Olsem (Fulda, Minn.) with a time of 27:11 and Jordan Malikowski (Royalton, Minn.) with a 27:44.
• 6: Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) was the Cardinals' top performer in all six meets in 2019, and led the team in 15 of its last 17 meets over the past three seasons.
• 27:11: Isaiah Olsem (Fulda) posted the Cardinal men's fastest 8K time in 2019, stopping the clock in 27:11.91 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Oct. 4.
 
Did You Know?:
• Running in her final MIAC Championships on Nov. 2, 2019, Danielle Franke (Mounds View, Minn.) clocked a career-best six-kilometer time of 24:18.5 to place 54th overall. Franke's 24:18.5 6K effort bettered her previous career-best time of 24:21.6, set at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational in early October.
