WINONA, Minn. — On the track,
Anna Swanson (Osceola, Wis.) made her second straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships to close out the 2022 season in May.
And in late June, Swanson was once again in the national spotlight, earning All-Region honors by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay teams. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Overall, there were 15 women's programs and 11 men's programs that earned 20 or more All-Region honors for their efforts during the 2022 outdoor season. Of those 36 programs, none took home more laurels than the
Rowan men with 42. At the conference level, the NESCAC reigned supreme with 239 honors. The WIAC finished a distant second with 160, followed by the NEWMAC with 141 and the UAA with 140.
Swanson, owner of the nation's ninth-longest throw heading into the outdoor national championships — placed 18
th, finishing with a championships-best throw of 35.84 meters.
