LA CROSSE, Wis. – For the first time since 2022, Saint Mary's sent a track and field athlete to the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field championships. Mya Slavin competed on Friday afternoon where she ran the 800-meter for a new personal best time of 2:10.49.
Slavin placed 12th out of the 22 runners qualified to nationals.Â
She was just three spots shy of qualifying for championship Saturday by just under half a second. Slavin proved to be a national contender and had a wonderful Saint Mary's base behind her as it was a short drive to watch her compete.
The St. Charles native finished as a second team All-American as a sophomore. Â
