Cardinal men latest academic honorees

WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's soccer team was recognized for excellence in the classroom, as the Cardinals were among those schools to earn the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, it was announced Thursday.
 
The Cardinals, who boasted a 3.36 team GPA, were among a total of 798 soccer teams (298 men500 women) who posted team GPAs of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year.
 
Saint Mary's was among 149 schools to have both its men's and women's teams among the Team Academic Award winners
 
The United Soccer Coaches Team Excellence Award is the latest academic honor for the Cardinals. Led by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Eli Szymanski (La Crosse, Wis.), the men's soccer team boasted 11 MIAC academic all-conference honorees. Joining Szymanski were Aidan Adamek (Helena, Mont.), Wally Barros (Santa Maria da Boa Vista, Brazil), Marshall Briggs (Phoenix, Ariz.), Jacob Clements (Holmen, Wis.), Zack Frantzen (Urbandale, Iowa), Jack Hurley (Homewood, Ill.), Kristian Lindanger (Haugesund, Norway), Kyle Palmberg (Holmen, Wis.), R.J. Vazquez (Antioch, Ill.), Jacob Wing (Verona, Wis.).
