SAINT MARY’S SCOUTING REPORT:
• FOR THE RECORD: The Cardinals head into their mid-week conference matchup at St. Olaf sitting at 7-5-1 overall, while sporting a 2-4-0 record in five conference contests..
• LAST TIME OUT: The Cardinals picked up a pair of wins last weekend, shutting out Bethel 2-0 in an MIAC matchup at Ochrymowycz Field last Saturday, before adding yet another shutout, this one a 1-0 victory over Grinnell in their final nonconference game of the year the following afternoon in Grinnell, Iowa.
• FAST STARTS: The Cardinals have scored a goal before the eight-minute mark five times this season. Genesis Capacio (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored at 7:09 against UMN Morris on Sept. 1, Laura Ashe (Beaverton, Ore.) needed just 2:55 to put SMU out front against Wartburg on Sept. 3, Ella Lahart (Sherwood, Ore.) found the back of the net 7:52 into the first half against Beloit on Sept. 5, Samantha Munson (Plain City, Utah) scored at 2:19 of the first half vs. Lawrence four days later, and Ashe struck quickly again against Bethel last Saturday, finding the back of the net at 2:49.
• HOME ON THE ROAD: The Cardinals, who went 6-1-2 in their eight home games last season, have collected five of their seven wins this season on the road. SMU is 5-2-0 in six road contests, while sitting at 2-3-1 at Ochrymowycz Field.
• ON A ROLL: With their wins over Bethel and Grinnell last weekend, the Cardinals pushed their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1). SMU has not allowed a goal during that span.
• THROWING UP ZEROS: All seven of SMU’s victories this season have been by shutout — 6-0 over UMN Morris, 2-0 vs. Bethel, and 1-0 over Beloit, Lawrence, UW-Stout, Concordia, and Grinnell. … All told, 11 of SMU’s 13 games this season have been decided by shutout — the lone exceptions, 2-1 losses to Wartburg and Gustavus. … Twenty-five of Saint Mary’s last 32 games have been decided by shutout — including 16 of SMU’s last 18 wins.

• STREAK-SNAPPER: Saint Mary’s snapped its four-game conference losing streak with its 1-0 victory over Concordia on Sept. 30. SMU had dropped decisions to St. Catherine, Augsburg, Saint Benedict, and Gustavus prior to its 1-0 win over the Cobbers.
• SPREADING THE WEALTH: Saint Mary’s 15 goals this season have come from nine different players, led by Munson and Leonard, who have each netted a team-best three goals. Ashe and Lauryn Skoruppa (Littleton, Colo.) have both scored twice, while Capacio, Lahart, Brooklyn McKinney (Thornton, Colo.), Hannah Bradley (Portland, Ore.), and Sadie Chrusciel (Geneva, Ill.) own SMU’s other five goals.
• CAREER FIRSTS: Saint Mary’s has had three players net their first collegiate goals this season. Chrusciel tallied her first goal as a Cardinals in SMU’s 2-1 loss to Gustavus on Sept. 27; Bradley netted her first collegiate goal in SMU’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris on Sept. 1, while Ashe’s first-half tally against Wartburg two days later was her first as a Cardinal.
• CAREER FIRST II: Samantha Munson collected her first collegiate multiple-point game, scoring once and assisting on two others for a four-point effort in SMU’s 6-0 win over UMN Morris on Sept. 1.
• LENDING A HAND: Samantha Munson and Peyton Maier (Elk River, Minn.) share the team lead with three assists each, while Lahart, Ashe, McKinney, Leonard, Anna Warneke (Maple Grove, Minn.), Kaelyn Clasen (Kent, Wash.), and Kaylen Pray (Port Townsend, Wash.) have all collected one helper..
• POINT PRODUCER: Samantha Munson sits atop the team’s points race with nine (3 G, 3 A), followed by Leonard with seven (3 G, 1 A). Ashe is third with five (2 G, 1 A), followed by Skoruppa with four (2 G), and McKinney (1 G, 1 A), Lahart (1 G, 1 A), Bradley (1 G, 1 A), and Maier (3 A) with three each.
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Anna Peckosh (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has started nine of the Cardinals’ 13 games in goal, compiling a 1.05 goals-against-average and a .779 save percentage. • GOALKEEPING FIRSTS: McKenzie Munson recorded her first collegiate win and first career shutout — in her first collegiate start, a 1-0 win over Beloit on Sept. 5. … Peckosh stopped a career-high eight shots in racking up career shutout No. 1 against UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 16, 2022. … Peckosh made her first collegiate start against UW-Stout on Oct. 5, 2022, stopping both Blue Devil shots she faced in 45:00 of play, while making her first appearance in a Cardinal uniform on Sept. 17, 2022, making three saves in 22 minutes of relief in SMU’s 3-0 loss to Saint Benedict. … Nadal made her first collegiate start on Sept. 21, 2022 against Luther, stopping seven first-half shots.
• CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: Saint Mary’s has scored 10 of its 15 goals this season in the first half. … Saint Mary’s has allowed just eight goals in 12 games — three in the first half and five in the second. … SMU has outshot its opponents 185-140, including 89-62 in shots on goal. … SMU’s six goals against the Cougars on Sept. 1 are the most since SMU poured in 11 goals against Martin Luther on Sept. 6, 2021.

• FOR THE RECORD: The Oles head into their Tuesday showdown against Saint Mary’s sitting at 4-4-3 overall, including a 2-2-2 mark in conference play.
• LAST TIME OUT: Emily Johnson scored the game’s only goal early in the second half, lifting the Oles to a 1-0 win over Hamline Saturday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn.
• ROAD WARRIORS: St. Olaf closes out its season playing four of its final six games on the road, the lone exceptions — Tuesday’s game against Saint Mary’s and an Oct. 18 date against Gustavus. The Oles own a 2-3-2 mark in seven home contests, while going 1-1-1 away from Rolf Melby Field.
