• 1 x 3: In his first collegiate at-bats, Daniel Sherman (Richfield, Minn.) belted his first career high — a double – and later scored his first collegiate run in the SMU baseball team’s 3-1 win over Northwestern last Tuesday.
• 2 x 2: E.J. Hietala (Duluth, Minn.) and Josh Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.) had a hand in three of the Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team’s five match victories in last Saturday’s 5-4 win over Hamline. Hietala won at No. 2 singles and Janssen was victorious at No. 3, while the duo teamed for an 8-7 win at No. 1 doubles.
• 3: Trevon VanEgtern (La Crosse, Wis.) and Daniel Marxen (Maple Grove, Minn.) each hit their first home runs of the season in the SMU baseball team’s 13-9 loss to Aurora last Monday, while Riley Bauman (Stratford, Wis.) launched his second of the season later that afternoon against Wheaton (Ill.).
• 3 x 2: Zoie Becker (St. James, Minn.), Ella Boomgaarden (St. Peter, Minn.), and Emily Henderson (Jordan, Minn.) all picked up wins in both singles and doubles in the SMU women’s tennis team’s 5-4 win over Hamline last Saturday.
• 4 2+: The Saint Mary’s fastpitch softball team had four players collect two or more runs in the second game of last Sunday’s nonconference doubleheader against UW-La Crosse. Naleya Bork (De Pere, Wis.) finished the game 3-for-4, while Peyton Berg (Chatfield, Minn.), Riley Hall (Dallas Center, Iowa), and , and Cassie Sutor (Chicago, Ill.) all finished with two hits.
• 4-6: Peyton Berg (Chatfield, Minn.) went 2-for-3 in both games of the Saint Mary’s fastpitch softball team’s nonconference doubleheader against UW-La Crosses last Sunday. The freshman catcher also drove in a pair of runs in the 9-6, Game 2 loss.
• 5-4 x 2: The Saint Mary’s men’s and women’s tennis teams both picked up conference wins over Hamline last Saturday — with both team winning by 5-4 count.
• 8: Timmy Smith (South St. Paul, Minn.) struck out a career-high eight batters in the Cardinal baseball team’s 3-1 nonconference win over Northwestern (Minn.) last Tuesday. The eight strikeouts were two more than the senior right-hander’s previous career-best.
