MANKATO, Minn. - A small but mighty group of athletes started off the weekend for the Cardinal Track and Field teams this Friday afternoon at the Maverick Premier meet in Mankato.

Zari Young started strong, finishing sixth among the steep competition of the 60m dash to break her own previously held school record with a time of 7.79 seconds.Â

Samantha Munson also competed for the Cardinals in the 60m dash, stopping the clock in 8.21 seconds. She also ran a new indoor personal best performance in the 200m, finishing in 26.79 seconds, moving her up to third all time for Saint Mary's female athletes in this event.
Mya Slavin finished fifth in a tight mile race with a time of 5:21.55, with an incredible kick of 35 seconds in her final lap.Â

On the men's side,
Ryan Cramer finished his 60m dash in 7.13 seconds, and the 200m dash in 22.79 seconds, moving him up to fourth all time on the Saint Mary's all-time list.
Oliver Adamson also represented the Cardinals at this meet, finishing the 60m dash in 7.27 seconds and the 200m with a new personal best time of 23.00 seconds, moving him up a spot on the Saint Mary's all-time list to ninth.Â

These competitors, as well as the remaining competitors of the SMU Track and Field, team will be back in action again tomorrow at the Saint John's Invitational in Collegeville, Minnesota. Field events are set to begin at 11:00 a.m., with running events to follow.
