Record Performances Lead Cardinals to Strong Showing in MIAC Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2025–26 Indoor Track & Field postseason awards on Thursday, recognizing top performers from the conference championship meet.

The top three finishers in each individual event and relay at the 2026 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships earned All-Conference honors, while athletes finishing fourth through sixth received honorable mention recognition. Conference coaches also voted on the league's individual awards, including Track Athlete, Field Athlete, Rookie, and Coach of the Year for both men and women.

The Saint Mary's track and field program had an impressive showing in the postseason awards, highlighted by multiple All-Conference performances and several record-breaking efforts.

On the men's side, sophomore Ryan Cramer (Elk River, Minn. / Elk River) secured his second consecutive postseason honor. Cramer earned All-Conference recognition in the 55-meter sprint after finishing second with a school-record time of 6.45 seconds, marking his second program record of the season.

Junior Ron White (Holmen, Wis. / Holmen) also earned postseason recognition, placing sixth in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 15.39 meters to receive honorable mention and his first conference honor.

The women's team delivered a historic performance at the conference championships, recording its highest point total at the meet in 20 years.

Sophomore Zari Young (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity) continued her dominant season by defending her MIAC title in the 55-meter sprint. Young set a school record with a winning time of 7.14 seconds to earn All-Conference honors. Senior Samantha Munson (Plain City, Utah / St. Joseph) joined her in the event, placing sixth with a time of 7.41 seconds to earn honorable mention.

Munson also made program history in the 200 meters, capturing the conference title with a school-record time of 25.42 seconds and earning her first indoor All-Conference honor.

Sophomore Mya Slavin (St. Charles, Minn. / St. Charles) turned in a standout distance performance, claiming the conference championship in the mile with a school-record time of 5:00.60. She added another All-Conference finish by placing third in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:57.79.

In the field events, sophomore Xara Gin (Naperville, Ill. / Neuqua Valley) delivered a personal-best performance in the pole vault, clearing 3.43 meters to place second and earn All-Conference honors along with her first indoor postseason award.

The Cardinals have one final opportunity to qualify athletes for nationals when they compete at the UWL Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 7, in La Crosse, with competition scheduled to begin at noon.
