LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Wednesday afternoon the field of NCAA DIII All-Americans and a familiar face is making her third straight appearance on the prestigious list. 

Junior pitcher and third baseman Makayla Steffes of the Saint Mary's softball team has been named a Third Team All-American as the post season recognition keeps rolling in. 

Steffes, the hometown hero from Winona, Minn., has earned utility and pitcher All-American honors after starting and playing in all 49 games for the Cardinals this season. 

As a pitcher, Steffes led the conference and the team in batters struck out with 148, opposing batting average at a personal record of .208, and total wins with 21 this season, all in just 142 innings pitched. 

She pitched 10 complete games for one shutout. 

At the plate, Steffes led the team in hits at 60 this season. She exploded for a .417 batting average racking up 34 RBIs and had an on base percentage of .482. When she was on base, she was lethal.

She had a conference best 31 stolen bases. 

This season, Steffes was an All-Conference player and an All-Region IX honoree.

Steffes was the Joan Joyce Utility Player and Pitcher of the Year last season, her freshman season she was also apart of the Third Team All-American list.

She helped lead the Cardinals to back-to-back Super Regional appearances helping the team to a 40-9 overall record.
