Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — Mike Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) had a goal andn two assists, while Nate Percy (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) added a goal and an assist, lifting the Saint Mary's University junior varsity men's hockey team to a 4-2 victory over Saint John's Saturday evening at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals and Johnnies traded first-period goals, SMU's coming off the stick of Percy, while SJU's was an unassisted tally at 8:37.

Colin McGlynn (St. Louis, Mo.) scored the only goal of the second period to give SMU a 2-1 lead heading into the final stanza, while Mark Huber (Dodge Center, Minn.) pushed that lead to 3-1 two minutes into the third period. SJU cut the gap to one, 3-2, on a goal by Ryan Frederick, but Anderson sealed the win with an empty net tally with nine seconds remaining.

Allen Mekash () collected the win in goal for the Cardinals, stopping 34 of the Johnnies' 36 shots.
