MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Saint Mary's University men's hockey junior varsity team scored three goals in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Cardinals to a 4-1 victory over the University of Minnesota junior varsity Friday evening at Mariucci Arena.

The Gophers jumped out to a 1-0 first-period, lead, but SMU pulled even on a Mark Huber (Dodge Center, Minn.) tally at 3:40 of the second period. Peter Ronning (Eden Prairie, Minn.) then kicked off the Cardinals' three-goal third four minutes into the frame, while Brian Soskin (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and Josh Kaebel (Tremont, Ill.) also got into the act with third-period goals.

Tim High (Goodview, Va.) finished with 21 saves for the Cardinals, who improved to 3-1-1 with their third straight victory.
