Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University junior varsity men's hockey team raced out to a 3-0 lead, but Bottineau scored three times in the game's final 20 minutes to earn a 3-3 tie at the SMU Ice Arena.

Peter Ronning (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Trevor Erickson (Sparta, Wis.) gave the Cardinals a 2-0 first-period lead, and Nick Gualano (Prospect Heights, Ill.) pusehd that advantage to 3-0 with his second-period tally.

Bottineau scored twice in the first four minutesof the third period, then got the game-tying goal from Scotty Walters with seven minutes left in regulation.

Lance Borlot (Mounds View, Minn.) finished with 36 saves for the Cardinals, while Troy Chandler kicked out 34 of the Cardinals' 37 shots.
