The Cardinals gave up a goal 50 seconds into the opening half and were never able to get the equalizer, as St. Catherine held SMU off the board en route to a 2-0 conference win in St. Paul, Minn. Gustavus, meanwhile, was also shut out on Saturday, falling by the same 2-0 count to Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn.

The Gusties got all the offense they would need in the game's 32nd minute as Rachel Iblings netted her third goal of the season. Becca Hagen gave GAC a little breathing room three minutes into the second half, as the Gusties handed SMU a 2-0 setback in St. Peter, Minn.
