Game Summary

ST. PETER, Minn. — Gustavus scored two power play goals and added a shorthanded tally, as the Gusties handed the Saint Mary's University junior varsity men's hockey team a 6-2 setback Friday evening at the Don Roberts Ice Arena.

Dan Billiar (Mankato, Minn.) got the Cardinals on the board first, scoring a shorthanded goal at 12:09 of the opening period. Gustavus would knot things up before the end of the first, then added three unanswered second-period goals in a span of three minutes to take a 4-1 lead into the game's final 20 minutes.

Mike Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) got SMU within 4-2 with a goal at 4:48, but again the Gusties responded with a pair of third-period goals to ice the win.

Lance Bortot (Mounds View, Minn.) finished with 30 saves for the Cardinals.
