ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team made one mistake Wednesday evening — and Macalester made the Cardinals pay for it, handing the Cardinals a 1-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference setback.

Macalester made the most of the only shot on goal in the first half, converting on a first-half corner kick, when Margaret Nemetz got free to beat SMU goalkeeper Cassie Hulett (Milwaukee, Wis.) with the game's only goal.

Nemetz's goal would be the only shot the Scots would get past Hulett, who stopped all five of Macalester's second-half shots. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Scots goalkeeper Rosie Glenn-Finer was equally as stingy, stopping all three SMU shots in recording the shutout.

The Cardinals, who fall to 1-9-0 in the MIAC and 3-13-0 overall, close out their 2011 schedule on Saturday, hosting Augsburg in a 1 p.m. conference contest at Ochrymowycz Field.
