WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's JV hockey team scored three goals in an eight-minute span in the third period, rallying the Cardinals to a 6-4 victory over Gustavus at the SMU Ice Arena.

Trailing 4-3 midway through the third period, the Cardinals got a pair of goals from Nick Gualano sandwiched around one by Evan Shockley, for the come-from-behind victory.

Shockley, Jordan Myers and Sean Pavelich had given SMU a 3-1 advantage in the second period, but the Gusties answered with two goals in the final three minutes of the second period and another two minutes into the third to take a 4-3 advantage.

Tim High made 25 saves in goal for the Cardinals, while SMU pelted GAC goalie Kevin Pajor with 31 shots.

SMU, which improves to 4-3 overall, is back in action next weekend, when the Cardinals travel to MSU-Bottineau for a pair of games.
