Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — Trevor Erickson (Sparta, Wis.), Nic Gualano (Prospect Heights, Ill.) and Dan Billiar (Mankato, Minn.) all scored two goals, as the Saint Mary's University junior varsity men's hockey team cruised to an 11-3 win over Minnesota State Mankato Club Saturday at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals erupted for six first-period goals — including one each from Erickson and Billiar — then added three more in the second period and two in the third.

Alex North (Faribault, Minn.), Evan Schockley (Omaha, Neb.), Peter Ronning (Eden Prairie, Minn.), Colin McGlynn (St. Louis, Mo.) and Brian Soskin (Arlington Heights, Ill.) also scored for the Cardinals, who also got five assists from Andrew Kryzer (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.).

Allen Mekash () finished with 24 saves in goal for the Cardinals, while Minnesota State goalie Sean Bloolmfield finished with 32 saves.

The same two teams square off on Sunday at the SMU Ice Arena. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
