Complete All-MIAC Team
WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team closed out the 2012 regular-season on Oct. 27 against Augsburg.
But for
Caroline Blackwood, that Oct. 27 contest against the Auggies wasn't the final chapter in her freshman story.
That chapter was written Thursday, when the Cardinal midfielder was named Honorable-Mention All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Blackwood started all 18 games for the Cardinals this season, recording one assist, while leading the team with 23 shots.
Concordia's Sarah Rounds, who scored 10 goals and finished with 31 points, was named MIAC Player of the Year, while Cobber coach Dan Weller, who helped guide CC to a 15-3-2 overall record and an NCAA Division III National Tournament berth, earned MIAC Coach of the Year honors.
As part of the conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC also announced the seventh annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for women's soccer, which included SMU's Rachel Tackman (Lake City, Minn.)
