GameDay PreviewNORTHFIELD, Minn. - It didn't take long for St. Olaf to kick its offense into high gear, and once the Oles did, the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team had no way to slow them down.
St. Olaf scored the game's first goal in the sixth minute and kept its offensive pedal to the metal, scoring four more times - including three times in the second half - in handing the Cardinals a 5-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference setback.
Kajsa Brindley netted her team-leading seventh goal of the season on a free kick from the right side six minutes into the first half, and Rachel Stets pushed that advantage to 2-0 eight minutes later, as the Oles took a 2-0 advantage into the halftime break.
The quick-striking Oles were at it again to open the second half as Stets netted her second of the game less than three minutes in. Sarah Behr and Madison Van Wylen added goals 12 minutes apart midway through the stanza to round out the Oles' scoring.
Aubrie Cornell (Holts Summit, Mo.) finished with four saves for the Cardinals, who are back in action on Saturday, when they host Bethel in a 3 p.m. conference contest at Ochrymowycz Field.
