WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University baseball team returns to Max Molock Field for their third straight home doubleheader on Tuesday, as the Cardinals entertain Hamline. First pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m.

The Cardinals are coming off their fourth straight conference split on Sunday. SMU got a stellar pitching performance from Steph Scatassa (Westchester, Ill.) in the Cardinals' 3-0 victory over Gustavus in the opener Sunday at Max Molock Field, but the Gusties turned the tables in the nightcap, beating SMU 5-3 to earn the split. … Hamline picked up a pair of conference wins late Monday night, as the Pipers swept Carleton 9-3 and 11-8 at Midway Stadium in St. Paul, Minn.

May 2, 2012: SMU kept its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season hopes alive, as the Cardinals rebounded from a 4-3 Game 1 setback to beat Hamline 6-5 — thanks in part to the 2-for-3, 3-RBI effort of Jon Schlemmer (De Pere, Wis.) — in the nightcap at Midway Stadium in St. Paul, Minn.

With their sweep over Carleton on Monday, the Pipers pushed their winning streak to six straight. … Dan Ellefson went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and picked up his fourth pitching win of the season, tossing a complete-game eight-hitter, allowing three runs, while striking out six and walking three. … Jordan Buck, Mark Radmacher and Jordan Rubbelke each chipped in two hits in the opener against Carleton Monday. … Five of Hamline's nine Game 1 runs against Carleton Monday came on RBI doubles. … Rubbelke continued to swing a hot bat in Game 2 vs. the Knights Monday, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
