Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) — competing in his first meet of the season — picked up right where he left off a year ago, placing second overall in leading the SMU men's team to a
third-place finish at last Saturday's SMU Alumni Open, while
Chelsea Tremblay (Hayward, Wis.) made the most of her first collegiate 5K in leading the SMU women's team to a
third-place showing.

Katie Stolz (Forest Lake, Minn.) set the tone for the day with a second-place finish in the women's race at the SMU No-Limit Invitational. And
Peter Borash (Bowlus, Minn.) followed suit with a second-place finish of his own in the men's race.
Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.), however, decided to do the duo one better, as the SMU sophomore led a 1-2-3 Cardinal finish in helping the Saint Mary's men to the
team title. The Cardinal men edged second-place UW-Eau Claire by seven points, while the SMU women were
third behind UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse.

The Cardinals are back in action next Friday, traveling to Eau Claire, Wis., to take part in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational.

The SMU men posted its first-ever 1-2-3 individual finish in winning the SMU No-Limit Invitational a year ago. It was also the first time in the event's history that the Cardinals finished first as a team. …
Aaron Haley (Plainview, Minn.) — competing in his first meet of the season — placed second overall at the SMU Alumni Open on Sept. 7 with an eight-kilometer time of 22:19. … Haley owns the school's eight-kilometer record with a time of 26:00 at the Jim Drews Invitational last season, while narrowly missing rewriting the record books again at the MIAC Championships, when he clocked a time of 26:03 to finish 13th overall and earn First-Team All-MIAC honors. …
John Soucheray (Woodbury, Minn.) added a time of 23:03 to place 12th and
Jase Pater (Arden Hills, Minn.) was 19th in 23:22 at the SMU Alumni Open. …
