ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's soccer team returns to conference play on Saturday, traveling to St. Catherine for a 1 p.m. MIAC contest against the Wildcats.

 October 12, 2013: Thanks in part to an early second-half goal by Caroline Blackwood (Norwalk, Ohio), Saint Mary's was poised to record its first win of the season. In a span of 10 minutes, however, the Cardinals' dream of that elusive first win was transformed into a real-life nightmare. After three straight home games the Cardinals hit the road on Saturday against St. Catherine. Saint Mary's heads into Saturday's contest 2-4-0 away from home. … Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Buena Vista was the Cardinals' third straight overtime game. Saint Mary's dropped a 2-1 double-overtime decision to Concordia last Saturday, while battling Gustavus to a 3-3, 2 OT stalemate. … The Cardinals' win over Buena Vista improved Saint Mary's to 2-1-1 in its four overtime games this season. … The Cardinals' tie against Gustavus on Oct. 1 was their first since October 2, 2010, when Saint Mary's tied Concordia 0-0. … Caroline Blackwood (Norwalk, Va.) and Emma Schaefer (Falcon Heights, Minn.) netted Saint Mary's two goals vs. Buena Vista Tuesday. … Emily Loof (Colorado Springs, Colo.)—who recorded two goals against Gustavus on Oct. 1 for her fourth multiple-goal game of the season and netted Saint Mary's first-half goal against Concordia last Saturday—assisted on Blackwood's goal Tuesday to push her team-leading point total to 24. … Loof also leads the team in points with 24, while Schaefer is the team's assist leader with three and is second to Loof in both goals (5) and points (13). … Loof's 24 points are the most since Amy Sibik finished with 29 (12 goals, 5 assists) during the 2010 season. … Loof and Schaefer have now combined to score 16 of the team's 24 goals this season. … Loof notched her first collegiate hat trick against Bethany Lutheran on Sept. 23.
