BELLE PLAINE, Minn. — Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's golf coach brought two teams to the Bethany Lutheran Invitational Thursday afternoon — and the Cardinals rewarded him with a 1-2 finish.
Saint Mary's Red, led by
Madison Gately (Glenview, Ill.) brought home the team title with a 429 team total, while Saint Mary's White, fueled by
Kaitlin Kling's (LeRoy, Minn.) medalist round of 94, was a shot back at 430.
Along with Gately's 101, Saint Mary's Red also got a 103 from
Kortney Wobbe (Wabasha, Minn.), a 106 from
Jennie Marx (Austin, Minn.) and a 119 from
Paula Avila (Weslaco, Texas). Saint Mary's White, meanwhile, received a 103 from
Haley Jung (Monticello, Minn.), a 107 from
Tiarra Thompson (Jonesboro, Ga.) and a 126 from
Kelsey Stenzel (Wabasha, Minn.).
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, traveling to Centennial Oaks GC in Waverly, Iowa, to take part in the Wartburg Invitational.
