BECKER, Minn. — The weather took a turn for the better Sunday afternoon.
 
And the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota golf teams took advantage of the more seasonable temperatures during the second day of the Augsburg Spring Invitational, as the Cardinal men placed 11^th, while the Saint Mary's women finished seventh.
 
Brett Jackson turned in the team's best round of the weekend, carding a second-day 81 to go with his opening-round 82 for a team-leading 163 total. David Iten shaved nine shots off his first-round 90, equaling Jackson's Day 2 81 for a 171 total. Kyle Brodt closed out the tournament with a 172 total (83-89—172), while Chad Cesarz (90-83) and Hunter Rau (86-90—176) rounded out the Saint Mary's top five.
 
For the second day in a row, Kaitlin Kling led the way for the Cardinal women, shooting a second-day 96 to go along with her opening-round 91 for a 187 36-hole total. Madison Gately followed up her Day 1 96 with a 99 on Sunday, while Michaela Heuckendorf (116-119—235), Tiarra Thompson (122-127—249), and Erika Stumo (137-124—261) rounded out the Cardinal lineup.
 
The Saint Mary's men are back in action next Saturday and Sunday, taking part in the 36-hole Winona State Triangular at The Bridges Golf Course, while the Cardinal women head to Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa, to compete in the 36-hole Wartburg Spring Invitational.
